Well actually this is not the blog post I originally wrote, but having taken some time to cool down and think about it I am instead retracting my rather rash statement that I am giving up on cfml.

(Note to self: Dont make big statements when in a temper.)

The fact is I want the Lucee project to succeed and I know I am not the only one. It has just been that the last few months have been a strain for a lot of people, myself included and the manner in which things were being discussed pushed me over the edge for a moment.

Yes there are still problems with Lucee and those won't get fixed over night, but those problems are not with the product they were with how the project was being presented to the world.

In fact if you have been paying attention you will have noticed that the forums discussions are been better handled recently and more importantly Lucee is pretty much on target to hit its release date.

We can argue all day about semantics and point fingers about who said what, but at the end of the day whats important is the product and despite some differences of opinion it still looks like a nice bit of work.

So for now I am taking a breath, and beginning to try out Lucee 5 for myself.
